Therapy for Children and Adolescents
Our clinician, Tori Garnes, MA, NCC, LPC, offers developmentally informed therapy tailored to the unique needs of children and adolescents. Using play-based, creative, and age-appropriate therapeutic approaches, she helps young clients express feelings and experiences that may be difficult to put into words, build healthy coping skills, develop emotional awareness, and navigate challenges with greater confidence. Therapy can provide a safe and supportive space for children and teens who are experiencing anxiety, sadness, big emotions, behavioral concerns, changes at home or school, difficulties with friendships or relationships, or simply having a hard time making sense of what they are feeling.
Tori takes the time to build a trusting therapeutic relationship and meet each young person where they are, recognizing that every child communicates, learns, and processes emotions differently. Her approach is collaborative and strengths-based, helping children and adolescents develop the tools they need to better understand themselves, manage emotions, navigate challenges, and build resilience. When appropriate, therapy may also include collaboration with parents, caregivers, schools, or other supportive adults to create a consistent network of care. The goal is not simply to change a behavior, but to understand what may be underneath it and help each child feel heard, supported, and empowered to grow.
