Types of Anxiety Disorders
Generalized Anxiety
Persistent anxiety and worry surrounding many themes. You may experience feeling on edge, muscle tension, irritability, sleep disturbances, and more.
Separation Anxiety
Anxiety can arise when we are separated from that which we care about and are accustomed to. This could be related to our home, loved ones, family, friends, or others.
Social Anxiety
Anxiety related to social situations. You may experience worry related to other’s thoughts and feeling regarding you, navigating social settings, and more.
Illness & Health Anxiety
Sometimes people may have worry and anxiety surrounding their health or developing a health condition. Individuals with health anxiety often research their symptoms, or check their bodies for signs and symptoms of various medical conditions.
Phobias
Intense fear surrounding a specific focus. Some common phobias include emetephobia (fear of vomiting), arachnaphobia (fear of spiders), and acrophobia (fear of heights).
Panic Attacks
Panic attacks are intense periods of anxiety/fear that may come along with physical sensations such as racing heart, shortness of breath, shaking, and more. Some individuals may also have Panic Disorder, a mental health condition characterized by recurrent panic attacks.
